Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival

Welcome to the newest edition of the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival. As summer is upon us, many of us are busy with vacations, travel, guests and family activities.  As such, there are fewer participants than in the past.  Those that have entered however, do so with enthusiasm.  There are many great posts - so grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy!  You'll likely meet a few new homeschool bloggers along the way.

Artist / Composer Study & Music
Angie at Live Love Learn has shared a simple idea of how we can assure these subjects don't get set aside when life gets hectic, Don't Leave it Out.

Lizzie at A Dusty Frame writes about how their artist study experiences have developed an appreciation of art in both her son and herself, in her post Artist Study.  She also provides a number of great links for artist study resources and printables.

I've shared a post entitled Ideas for Art Appreciation & Artist Study here at Academia Celestia.

Handcrafts
Michelle's post, Handicraft, Digital Photograhy, is a short & sweet look at the developing photography skills of her daughters.  A great reminder that handcrafts aren't restricted to the more traditional crafts.

Tricia, who blogs at Hodgepodge provides a detailed tutorial on creating beautiful sunflowers with pastels in her post, Sunflowers, A Pastel Tutorial.

Harmony Art Mom - who we all know as Barb - shares a delightful resource that will inspire budding artists and nature lovers in her post What to Draw and How to Draw It.

Habits & CharacterNancy at Sage Parnassus wrote a post entitled CITIZENSHIP Part II: Secret Resolves and Dreamy Eyes.

Bible Study & Living Books
Penny brings us a simple way to encourage a daily devotional time with her children with her post Making Memories.  Check out her blog, Our Crazy Adventures in Austismland for more delightful insights into their homeschool journey.

In my post Tiger Tiger,  I share how I try to incorporate real-life experiences as we read living books.  With Charlotte Mason's idea of Living Books as my guide, I also discuss one characteristic I look for in new literature.

Living & Homeschooling
Heather's post, A Well-Spent Summer Journal: The Week of Summer Fun, at The Mac RAK: Adventures of a Homeschool Wife & Mother provides a glimpse into their event filled week.  What I discovered, while I read her post, is that it is actually one within a series of posts describing their Summer Well Spent.

Michelle at The Holistic Homeschooler also writes about the stress we all feel when we fall behind in her post, Behind Schedule.

Nature Study
Kris at A Private Eye Nature writes a piece on Creativity.

Barb, who also writes at Handbook of Nature Study, shares a story about .... in her post A Teacher's Story: Hers and Mine.

At Blah, Blah, Blog, Pamela shares a humorous story of her families current experience with frogs in her post, A Frog a Day.

Geography & Social Studies
Kris, who also writes at Science of Relations shares a creative way in which she displays maps and protects them at the same time.  Check out her post entitled Maps and More Maps.

Planning
Keri provides us with a post entitled, Practical Planning on her blog Sunny Keri.

I didn't participate this time, but I can't wait to read. I need the inspiration to get our school year off to a good start.
